Description
In collaboration with Sage and Coombe Architects, Kohler Ronan is pleased to have provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection designs and services for the newly renovated Maplewood Memorial Library. Built in 1956, the pre-existing library building was no longer suitable for serving its community and became the community’s focus for a much needed renovation project.
Expected to open to the public in June of 2025, the renovations to the library also included an expansion from a one-story to a two-story building. Consisting, of 33,000 square feet, the new library features a reading terrace, a children’s area, an outdoor plaza, and 10 meeting rooms.
Additionally, the library is fully accessible and boasts sustainable design elements including roof PV arrays. The building is all-electric and is pursuing LEED Gold certification.
