Description
Located in Millbrook, NY, the Millbrook School is a private, co-ed boarding school for grades 9-12. Consisting of 800 acres, the campus hosts a number of academic buildings, residential halls, an athletic center, an arts center, playing fields, and more. Recently, the school constructed a new residential house for its faculty for which Kohler Ronan had the pleasure of providing MEP/FP designs and services.
The project scope involved the demolition and relocation of the new, two-story residence building. The new Pulling House includes common living areas, bedrooms, restrooms, offices, and conference rooms. Additionally, the house has a partial basement and a detached, 350 square-foot garage.
Kohler Ronan provided a closed loop geothermal system to serve the building’s heating and cooling requirements, a new standby generator to backup power for the entire residence, a new residential life safety fire alarm system, and an underground propane storage tank to serve the kitchen. Our engineers coordinated existing electrical utility infrastructure to accommodate the relocated building. Kohler Ronan also coordinated domestic and sanitary interconnections with the owner to maintain site infrastructures.
