Hayes Theater Lighting Ceremony

By KR Projects, Team Members, Events

The lights are on at the Hayes Theater and our engineers were thrilled to have been part of the lighting ceremony this morning. The event celebrated the official opening of the newly-renovated Broadway theater, formerly the Helen Hayes Theatre.  Our engineers designed comprehensive MEP/FP systems in support of infrastructure upgrades and significant renovations to both back-of-house and front-of-house areas. Dating back to the early 1900s, the venue is rich in theatrical history and stands as a testament to old Broadway.  Out team is delighted to have contributed to the theater’s future longevity.

UConn Opens New Downtown Campus in Hartford

By KR Projects, Team Members, Events

The University of Connecticut opened its new campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony in downtown Hartford. The new building represents the fulfillment of two goals: 1) creating a centrally located campus for the UConn Hartford students and faculty and 2) revitalizing the Front Street District by incorporating the previously vacant Hartford Times Building into the architectural fabric of the city.

“It will be part of the backbone of Hartford: a place of learning, engagement, and discovery, and a vibrant part of this neighborhood and the capital city as a whole,” said UConn President Susan Herbst.

The new building totals over 230,000 sf and accommodates classrooms, common spaces, academic department offices, science laboratories, student café/casual dining areas, and retail spaces.

Partners Rory Ronan, Joseph Lembo, Craig Razza, and Steve Lembo, along with senior project engineers, attended the ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of the new campus.
